Sad Day for Puppets was one of my favorite discoveries last year. Reminiscent of that great early nineties noise-pop like Cranes and Curve...a little like The Sundays.
Their first EP "Just Like Ghosts" is so pristine and light...I have listened to it countless times. Makes me float...
"Unknown Colors" is out now and such a fine effort. Enjoy one of my favorites tracks here:

Anni Rossi - Rockwell
Anni Rossi's debut full-length album "Rockwell" is due out via 4AD March 10th.
I love her EP "Afton" which immerses the listener in beautiful strings that range from quirky plucks to gliding soundscapes. Anni's vocals are pleasingly reminiscent of Regina Spektor's strange noise-acrobatics and her rhythms halt and race with a pop-modernist pace.
I love anything out of the ordinary and am so eager to hear more tracks from the new CD.
Here is a track that was on the EP and has been re-worked a bit to serve as the first single from "Rockwell":
Anni Rossi - Ecology (source: Beggars Group)
Here is another track from the EP that will also be on the new CD (I am assuming in a revised form):
Anni Rossi - Wheelpusher
Also check out this video of Anni covering Radiohead's "Creep":

Anya Maria - Slow & Steady Seduction Phase II
The dozen songs on Slow & Steady Seduction: Phase II are a mixture of Liz Phair sex appeal and Boswell Sisters cabaret with a dash of Jung.
-ROLLING STONE
I have been looking forward to this week's release of Slow & Steady Seduction Phase II from Anya Marina for a few months now.
I love her gritty little-girl/whiny crooner vocals and a few of the tracks are real stand-outs. I am still listening to the album as a whole and am enjoying it a bit more with every listen.
Grey's Anatomy recently featured her catchy new single:
Anya Maria - Move Me (right-click to download or stream via download.com).
I have also included another album track below.
Anya Marina - High On The Ceiling

The Endless - Soliloquy
It's a gothic/etherealpop gem. It has all the old skool elements involved. Dead Can Dance meets The Changlings.

-GRAVE CONCERNS MAGAZINE
The Endless has just released their fourth album "Soliloquy" this month.
Lead vocalist Adriana Roze (pictured) seems to channel many of my favorite alt-goth-pop singers; she seems to range from the heights of This Mortal Coil to the low grovel of P.J. Harvey. The band cites The October Project as an influence and the depth of orchestration and sepia-toned lyrical theatrics on "Soliloquy" favor comparison.
Thanks to Wears the Trousers for a great album review.
